Hawaii Werewolf & Drug Dealing Shark!

The figure toys above are created by artist, Joseph Harmon, and the Department of Awesome.
I think they are super adorable!

Skater Boy's Girl

The style from the guys, stolen by the girls.

Although I never really did any research on the skateboarding culture, but I have always had a thing for skaters. Just today, I saw a few skateboarders around the block. They are, like, birds in the city or something, so wild and free, never afraid to fall and get right back up. [something quite inspiring hey?]

It's not just the boys really, I think girls who skates are even more fantastic! But can girls really master the technique like boys? If so, how come there isn't any famous female skaters? I don't want to get into any sexes topics or whatever, but I do wonder.

Anyways, I wanted to put some photos of skater girls that inspired this post!:

Infinity Pool

so magical. Imagine at night, when the sky is clear, and the stars are shining.
As the water reflects the moon,
does it feel like being part of the galaxy?

Is is fashion???

                                                                                                                                                       NYLON Japan

I couldn't help it. It made my day.

WHAT IS THIS? (and Ms.Red kinda looks like Miley Cyrus with red mud on her face)

Usually, I consider myself quite fashion forward. Anything that goes from Gaga to Prada was all considerably acceptable and quite appealing for me. But this, this is just hilarious.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the clothes, I think they are alright.
But the face paint? .... seriously? It's a bit unnecessary. I can understand that the entire concept of this collection might be the focus on the colors and it's representation and personality through clothes and models, but... face paint?

I feel bad for those girls honestly. If I was going to stay thin and practice walking everyday in order to walk on those runway shows, I'd like to look decent enough so when I am old and saggy, I can look back at those pretty photos of myself being a MODEL, NOT A CIRCUS CLOWN.

I cant seem to find the name or brand for this show, but would I really want to know?

maybe not.

おはよう OHIYO!

She puts the calories on

So perfect, it's poison, you are no good for me. well, I know.             Your my junk food baby, junk food baby. She puts the calories on, like an extra cheese calzone. Now I'm tired and fatigued, at night I can't sleep, and I'm wondering how come.

well, it's probably because it's sunday after saturday, and on sundays, I can't think of anything else but food.
I am procrastinating..not good. Monday is tomorrow! loads of work. oh. my. god. Let's get to work.

I feel like a teenage girl.... AND IT'S OK!

nails with bff!
So, I'm Orange flamingo & you're Electric fuchsia!

(we are just so much cooler with orange, no black, mustache)

Everybody knew that we had too much fun

Yo we used to go break in
to the hotel, glimmer and we’d swim
Runnin' from the cops in our black bikini tops
screaming, "Get us while we're hot. Get us while we're hot"
(Come on take a shot)

This is what makes us girls
We all look for heaven and we put our love first
Somethin' that we'd die for, it's our curse
Don't cry about it, don't cry about it
This is what makes us girls
We all stick together 'cause we put our love first
Don't cry about him, don't cry about him
It's all gonna happen

The prettiest in crowd that you had ever seen
Ribbons in our hair and our eyes gleamed mean
A freshmen generation of degenerate beauty queens
And you know something?

They were the only friends I ever had
We got into trouble and when stuff got bad
I got sent away, I was waving on the train platform
Crying 'cause I know I'm never comin' back.

Remember how we used to party up all night
Sneaking out and looking for a taste of real life
Drinking in the small town firelight
(Pabst Blue Ribbon on ice)

Sweet sixteen and we had arrived
Walking down the streets as they whistle,
"Hi, hi!"
Stealin' police cars with the senior guys
Teachers said we'd never make it out alive

There she was my new best friend
High heels in her hands, swayin' in the wind
While she starts to cry,

mascara runnin' down her little Bambi eyes:

"Lana, how I hate those guys."

And that's where the beginning of the end begun
Everybody knew that we had too much fun
We were skippin' school and drinkin' on the job
(With the boss)

Sweet sixteen and we had arrived
Baby's table dancin' at the local dive
Cheerin our names in the pink spotlight
Drinkin' cherry schnapps in the velvet night

Art History Allusions

This was from the spring lookbook from Vigossa, a denim company based in the USA.
I've never wore their jeans before, so I couldn't comment on that.
The only thing I was interested in was their fun allusions to the old masters paintings.

Most of them are pretty well done, some not so much (almost seems forced), but overall I think the influence of the old to the new is quite an inspiration!

Cause you and I, we were .....

Friday's My Day Off

Today I'm taking a day off from work!
Even though I've always had fridays off,  but being a hard-working no lifer person I have become since the graphic design life started, I usually just work through friday (and saturday, and sunday).

So, in celebration of ... realizing how important it is to stay both mentally and physically healthy!
I'm having a television/movie marathon!

The quote above was in last night's episode of "Parks and Recreation ". Though it wasn't my favorite episode out of the whole seasons, I felt really connected with the plot; since I too, tries to juggle between tasks, and over-working myself to exhausion, like Leslie.

In the episode, Leslie was caught between her campaign and her current government job. Determined to put all her effort into both activities, despite the advice of taking some time off from one and concentrate on the other, she kept on going. However, things became more and more difficult as her tasks from both jobs demand her full attentions. While everything seems to be in a chaotic mess, a friend comes along, the genuine, awesome friend that knows what is in your best interests, and that friend was, the good ol' Ron!

When he dropped the quote, it was so touching but at the same time hilarious.
I was like, uhhhh need to put this into a beautiful typeface!?

So there you have it, my friday so far.
Inspired by television sitcom!

* Typefaces I used:  "Tommaso" by Eli Horn & "Blanch" by ATIPUS.

N.Y.C & Broadway :)

Getting my stomach filled with morning loveliness....
The guy who invented Nutella is a genius.  Thank you! (whisper)

I will be in New York this weekend, doing some site research for an outdoor festival project, which I am super excited about because I also get to curate my own lists of movies to be in the festival!
I will be working, watching the off-broadway show, "Blue Man", and pig-out at Flushing...

Hope everyone have a great friday night and weekend!

Wes Anderson "Moonrise Kingdom" + Jessica Hische

Exciting news for Wes Anderson fans (me! me! me!)
A trailer of his latest film - called Moonrise Kingdom - has been released!

Isn't it amazing?
Well, what's even more exciting is the custom lettering done by Jessica Hische (a super talented graphic designer and typographer I aspire to), her work in the film includes the titles and credits.

The exact date on the release date of Moonrise Kingdom is still unknown, but possibly around may.
This will be one of those movie that I will down in my lists of "movies that actually like and appreciate".
Here are some screenshots of the type in the trailer:

Be sure to check out more of Jessica’s work at her website and follow her on Twitter.

Excuse my silly face,
but I am super excited to show off my nails to the whole world! (aren't they cute?!) and the long awaited french candles from "diptyque".

Over the weekend, I bought a new bottle of redish-orange polish from "essie", called "Geranium".
After searching endlessly for THE perfect shade of orange that would match my skin tone, I came across this!

The color is beautiful, but I had to apply 2-3 coats in order to make it opaque.

To add some fun and contrast in the orange, I used a lavendar color polish called "L Esprit",  from American Apparel Nail Lacquer at the bottom of each nails.

I'm very obsess with orange right now!!  Why?
Probably because I cant wait for spring and summer any longer after seeing:

Those orange lips from Jason Wu!

Minimal Coloristic outfits from 3.1 Philip Lim!

and last but not least, Chanel's mint green suit, all from the S/S 2012 collection.
